Relief System Studies
Often the basis of safety for a chemical process is an appropriately sized and engineered relief system. This includes the relief device and also the vent disposal piping and equipment. The entire system can be an Independent Protection Layer (IPL).
Devices may be used in many standard applications, e.g. in the relief of exothermic chemical reactions to standalone devices for relief of overpressure from fire engulfment.
Using recognised methodologies, our engineers can size and design these systems from a review of the process, the excursions causing the event and the specification of the components of the system.
