Process Safety Qualifications
With the growing requirement for organisations to demonstrate process safety competence at all levels, and a particular need for board and senior management to prove understanding and competence in process safety, HFL Consulting has developed a series of integrated qualifications within the UK’s national framework for regulated qualifications.
The CIProS (Continuous Improvement in Process Safety) Qualifications Series enables your organisation to demonstrate management competence to the relevant regulatory bodies whilst truly enhancing individual staff development and leadership skills in process safety management. The qualifications cover all levels from senior executives to supervisors, across all disciplines, and will be of benefit to anyone with an active part to play in managing process safety.
The CIProS Qualifications comprise a Level 7 Award in Understanding Corporate Governance in Process Safety and Certificates and Diplomas in Continuous Improvement in Process Safety at Level 3 and Level 7. A Level 4 Certificate in Emergency Response in Processing Industries is also available for individuals with responsibility for coordinating and carrying out emergency response.
The Level 7 qualifications are aimed at providing senior and middle managers, as well as those with more general responsibilities for process safety, with a wider understanding of the subject to help them to effectively manage process safety programmes and teams in accordance with recognised good practice guidance.
The Level 3 qualifications are aimed at providing front line personnel in safety critical roles, through to middle managers of all disciplines, with a wider understanding of process safety management issues.
The structure and content has been developed to build on the Cogent Skills accredited awareness training in Process Safety Leadership (PSL) and Process Safety Management Foundations (PSMF), placing greater emphasis on demonstration of good process safety management practice to deliver tangible business benefits. The qualifications were designed in direct response to industry research into process safety policy setting and deployment, and have been deliberately aligned to support the Cogent Sector Skills Council’s Gold Standard.
The qualifications have been developed in collaboration with PAA\VQ-SET, a national and independent specialist awarding body registered with and regulated by Ofqual, which is the regulator for all qualifications, examinations and assessments in England and vocational qualifications in Northern Ireland.
